This record is based on the score for 'The Song of the Shirt' (1979), a film about the London needlewomen whose sweated labour built the metropolitan garment industry during the mid-nineteenth century. Score commissioned by its directors with funds provided by the Arts Council of Great Britain.
Comes with 20-page booklet containing information and pictures pertinent to the subject matter of the record, along with song lyrics.
