''There is no doubt that the majority of numbers that enjoy chart honours are forgotten as soon as they move out of the hit parade. However, every now and again there are numbers which are too good to vanish into obscurity. This album contains twelve such numbers and of course, it is no coincidence that the songs are soul numbers which have been in the hit parade some time during the last twelve months.
