Add Stephanie and Meg - Miami favorites who made a huge splash on the freestyle canvas; Secret Society - whose poppy innovations and brilliant live shows raised the art of freestyle to another level ·- and you have a freestyle lover's dream come true. Lookout for upcoming volumes!
Tolga - Perhaps one of freestyle’s greatest composers, Tolga has been world renown not only because of his songs but also his collaboration with freestyle's biggest selling artist, Stevie B. Toiga has produced and written over 6 hit albums with him including the Billboard hit, 'Dream About You.” Tolga also wrote, produced and performed on two albums by the incredibly popular Freestyle group, Linear, including their multi-platinum smash hit, 'Sending All My Love.' Tolga's productions are always top-notch as is evident in the four tracks presented here.
Stephanie - West Palm Beach native and popular scene-maker Stephanie got her start in the freestyle world thanks to the efforts of two young guys from West Palm Beach named Danny Spohn and Ronnie Roman. Danny ('Danny D.') and Ronnie had already tasted success as 'Boys From The Bottom' and their hit 'Boom, I Got Your Girlfriend'. They liked to hang at the popular Club Cassanova in W.P.B and, lucky for them, so did Stephanie. The trio met, the two young writers found their singer and the freestyle world has never been the same since.
Meg - Meg hails from Miami where she had the good fortune to meet Pete lnnerarity, Chris Green and Shane Williams who had a local R&B group. When the group went into the studio to record some originals, they found that they were lacking a strong lead voice for the new brand of R&B tinged dance music they were writing. They auditioned Meg, who was working at a local bank, and were promptly blown away by her vocal ability. Meg became the focus for their writing, released a few singles with her that started to blow up on Rhythm 98 and soon spread to Miami's Power 96. The girl from the bank became a huge hit - Meg was on her way as this new soulful twist to the freestyle movement proved infectious - gaining airplay, Meg's songs soon spread to Texas, California, Chicago and Philadelphia which ted to the release of Meg's first full-length album. The girl from the bank finally cashed in and so did the freestyle movement.
Secret Society - Comprised of Miami tastemakers Frank Lords and Rudy Gil, Secret Society was experimenting with bubbling new forms of Latin dance music that Miami is famous for today and, in their own way paved the way for the Ricky Martins and Gloria Estefans of the world. As a matter of fact, most of he original members of Secret Society became Gloria Estefan's Miami Sound Machine. Released independently, their records spread like wildfire across the country and eventually spilled over to Europe. Secret Society from being the big local dance group, selling out Miami's Casanova Club for four years in a row, to a legitimate pop phenomenon embraced by the dance crowd and especially the freestyle movement.'[discogs][]
