They had been dropped from the US version in favor of selections from the orchestral soundtrack. The versions of 'I'm Looking Through You' and 'The Word' were early mixes from the those that appeared on the UK release.
When Rubber Soul was released on CD in 1987 it used the original UK track listing but with a stereo digital remix by George Martin and artwork derived from the original US edition.
