'ⓅⒸ 2009 Decca Music Group Limited, London, a Universal Music Company. Made in the EU.
Recorded at Centro Cultural Miguel Delibes de Valladolid on 28-31 January, 1-3 February and 18-24 March 2009.
This recording was monitored on B & W Loudspeakers. Total time: 77:55.

The sacrifice of hundreds of thousands of boys in the name of music!
In 78 minutes of music (11 world premiere recordings) Cecilia Bartoli uncovers the extraordinary world of the 'castrati' and sings arias inspired by the castrato superstars of Naples such as Farinelli and Caffarelli - including some of the most virtuosic music ever written for the human voice.

The 56-page booklet contains notes in English, French and German plus a track and credits-list and source-lists.
It also has the sung-texts in original Italian and the translations into German, English and French.
Booklet and CD are sheltered by a standard jewel case with transparent tray.

Produced with the generous support of:
Junta de Castilla y León / Consejería de Cultura y Turismo / Fundación Siglo para las Artes de Castilla y León.'[discogs]
