"The British trio never quite fit into any pop music style categories from the beginning. During the early New Wave phase, they were listed as a post-punk band, but that's only half true at best. The American fanzine 'Trouser Press' once compared Andy Partridge, Colin Moulding, and Dave Gregory to Steely Dan and the Beatles, which is more accurate. Regardless, the work of these subtle English musicians, who are more or less still active today, is rich with pop gems. Highlights include their classic albums 'Drums and Wires' (1979), 'English Settlement' (1982), and 'Skylarking' (1986), which was produced by Todd Rundgren."
