The Velvet Underground

One of the most legendary bands of all times needed less than just 9 years to claim their spot in the Olymp of rock music. Besides their prestigious liaison with Andy Warhol’s fabric, the band also became famous for ist unique line-ups, among others including the drummer Maureen Tucker or the classically trained avantgardist John Cale, Nico as an on and off singer, and of course Lou Reed, who, as the mastermind of the group, translated his heroin addiction into poetic sounds. Brian Eno once said: "Almost nobody bought Velvet Underground records back in the day. But everyone who did started their own band later."
