The Equals

The Equals, a British rock and pop band formed in 1965, gained fame for their diverse musical style and multicultural lineup. Fronted by Guyanese-born Eddy Grant, the group blended elements of rock, pop, and reggae. Their breakthrough came with the hit "Baby, Come Back" in 1968, showcasing Grant's distinctive vocals. The Equals' energetic performances and chart success continued with songs like "Viva Bobby Joe." Beyond their musical contributions, they were notable for being one of the first racially integrated bands in the UK.
