Pixies

The Pixies are an American alternative rock band formed in 1986 in Boston, Massachusetts. They are considered to be one of the most influential bands in the alternative and indie rock scenes, and are known for their unique blend of punk, surf rock, and psychedelic rock. They are famous for their loud/quiet dynamic, where they alternate between soft verses and loud choruses in their songs. Frontman Black Francis wrote the majority of the Pixies' lyrics, which often dealt with dark and surreal themes, such as the Bible, death, and space.
Bassist Kim Deal wrote and sang lead vocals on some of the Pixies' most well-known songs, including "Gigantic" and "Where Is My Mind?"
The Pixies' music has been widely used in film and TV soundtracks, including the film "Fight Club" and the TV show "Breaking Bad".
The Pixies' live performances are known for their energy and excitement, with Black Francis jumping and thrashing around on stage.
The Pixies have been influential to many other artists, including Kurt Cobain of Nirvana, who once said that "Smells Like Teen Spirit" was an attempt to write a song in the style of the Pixies.
