Linkin Park

Blending nu-metal, rap, and electronic elements, Linkin Park became one of the defining rock bands of the early 2000s. Formed in Agoura Hills, California, in 1996, the group—Chester Bennington, Mike Shinoda, Brad Delson, Dave “Phoenix” Farrell, Rob Bourdon, and Joe Hahn—rose from the underground with their debut album “Hybrid Theory” (2000), which went on to sell over 30 million copies worldwide and remains one of the best-selling debut albums ever.

Their sound was a bold mix of rap-rock verses, soaring choruses, and electronic textures, often paired with introspective and emotionally raw lyrics. Hits like “In the End,” “Crawling,” and “Numb” became anthems for a generation, while their genre-blurring style opened doors for alternative and nu-metal artists globally.

Linkin Park weren’t afraid to evolve: albums like “Meteora” (2003) and “Minutes to Midnight” (2007) showed more melodic and experimental sides, while later releases incorporated electronic and even pop influences. Outside the studio, the band was known for creative music videos, memorable live shows, and charitable work through the Music for Relief foundation.

Tragically, the band lost lead singer Chester Bennington in 2017, but their legacy endures: Linkin Park remains a powerhouse of emotional intensity, technical skill, and boundary-pushing rock innovation, with a catalog that continues to resonate across generations.
