Link Wray

Link Wray, born Frederick Lincoln Wray Jr. on May 2, 1929, was a pioneering American rock and roll guitarist, songwriter, and composer. Renowned for his raw and innovative guitar sound, Wray's instrumental track "Rumble" (1958) is considered one of the earliest examples of distorted and aggressive guitar playing, laying the groundwork for the development of punk and heavy metal. Despite facing challenges due to racial segregation in the music industry, Wray's influence on rock music is undeniable.
