Dr. Alban

Dr. Alban, born Alban Uzoma Nwapa on August 26, 1957, in Oguta, Nigeria, rose to prominence in the 1990s as a pioneer of Eurodance music. After relocating to Sweden, he pursued a medical degree, earning the nickname "Dr. Alban." However, his passion for music led him to the forefront of the burgeoning Eurodance movement. Dr. Alban's breakthrough came with the release of his debut album, "Hello Afrika" (1990), which featured the infectious title track and established him as a dynamic force in the European dance music scene.

In 1992, Dr. Alban achieved global success with the release of "It's My Life," a Eurodance anthem that topped charts across Europe and beyond. His unique fusion of reggae, hip-hop, and dance elements, coupled with his distinctive vocal style, set him apart in the genre. Dr. Alban continued to enjoy commercial success with subsequent albums like "One Love" (1992) and "Born in Africa" (1996), solidifying his status as a prominent figure in the Eurodance movement.
