However, a disastrous fire broke out at the Montreux Casino during a Frank Zappa concert, destroying the venue. The incident inspired the band to write "Smoke on the Water," a song that tells the story of the fire and its aftermath. The song became one of Deep Purple's most recognizable and enduring hits, characterized by its memorable guitar riff and powerful rock sound.
