Booker T & The MG's

Booker T. and the MG's, formed in 1962, are an iconic American instrumental R&B and soul band. Comprising Booker T. Jones (organ), Steve Cropper (guitar), Donald "Duck" Dunn (bass), and Al Jackson Jr. (drums), they became the renowned house band for Stax Records. With a distinctive sound blending soul, funk, and blues, the group achieved widespread acclaim for their instrumental hits like "Green Onions." Beyond their success as a standalone act, they also backed numerous Stax artists. Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1992, Booker T. and the MG's continue to be influential in shaping the landscape of soul music.
