Next Heidi is championing Alexis Raphael, one of London's favourite DJ/Promoters. With a handful of sensational tracks under his belt (on Hot Creations and Lower East) and a hand in running one of London's most popular club nights Crèche, it's no wonder Alexis has been turning heads. Delivering two special productions for the imprint's sophomore release, both tracks carry a nod to retro house with some offbeat modern flavour. A-side 'Brickwall' kicks off with sauntering percussion and a rubbery bassline soon to be invaded by wonky synths and FX along with a central vocal line. Second original 'You Can Do It' follows in a similar vein with another distinctive spoken male vocal entering the pulse of the rough-edged, jacking groove. Having made dance music history with m_nus for a decade and now running the fresh and amazing label Items and Things alongside Magda, it's with great pleasure that Heidi presents a superb remix from dear friend Marc Houle to round off the package.
