Mixing With Middleton
This mix was recorded live using a state-of-the-art mixing set-up. Tom used two Technics SL1200 turntables with Stanton Groovemaster cartridges, along with a Pioneer CDJ100 CD player. It was mixed with a Roland DJ2000, with additional samples being flown in live from a Yamaha SU 700 sampler. The Daft Punk-style swooshy effects came from the Roland mixer's built-in effects, and the live remix of Black Science Orchestra's 'New Jersey Deep' was thanks to the Yamaha sampler. Tom asked us to mention all the equipment for two reasons: first, because it allows DJs to be far more creative with their mixing. And second, because he's hoping that Yamaha, Roland and Pioneer will give him some free stuff.'[discogs]
