The Spotnicks

The Spotnicks are a Swedish instrumental rock and roll band formed in the early 1960s. The Spotnicks were known for their distinctive sound, which was characterized by their use of Fender Stratocaster guitars and heavy reverb. The band's iconic look, which included blue space suits and silver helmets, was a nod to the science fiction craze of the 1950s and 60s. The Spotnicks were one of the first European bands to play rock and roll, and their popularity spread quickly throughout Europe, with hits in over 40 countries. They were also pioneers in the use of electronic instruments and were one of the first bands to incorporate the Moog synthesizer into their music. Despite being primarily instrumental, the band had a number of hits, including "Johnny Guitar," "Space Party," and "Orange Blossom Special."
