The Oak Ridge Boys

The Oak Ridge Boys are an American country and gospel vocal quartet formed in the 1940s. Originally called the Oak Ridge Quartet, they were one of the most popular gospel groups in the 1940s and 1950s. The group's lineup changed several times over the years, with the current members being Duane Allen (lead), Joe Bonsall (tenor), William Lee Golden (baritone), and Richard Sterban (bass).

In the 1970s, the group transitioned from gospel music to country and began incorporating pop, rock, and R&B elements into their sound. This change was reflected in their hit single "Y'all Come Back Saloon", which became their first top 40 hit on the pop charts. They continued to release successful albums and singles, including "Elvira", "Bobbie Sue", and "American Made".
