The Box Tops

The Box Tops were an American rock band formed in Memphis, Tennessee, in 1967. Best known for their hit singles "The Letter" and "Cry Like a Baby," they achieved commercial success with their soulful sound infused with rock and pop elements. Lead singer Alex Chilton's distinctive voice and the band's tight instrumentation defined their sound. Despite lineup changes, The Box Tops continued to release albums until disbanding in 1970.
