Peter, Paul & Mary

Peter, Paul and Mary were an American folk music trio composed of Peter Yarrow, Paul Stookey, and Mary Travers. Formed in 1961, they were one of the most popular and influential folk groups of the 1960s and beyond. Their music was known for its political activism, and they were involved in several civil rights and anti-war movements. Some of their most famous songs include "Blowin' in the Wind," "If I Had a Hammer," and "Puff, the Magic Dragon." They also performed covers of traditional folk songs, which helped revive interest in the genre. Peter, Paul and Mary had a string of hit albums and singles and won several Grammy Awards. After Mary Travers died in 2009, the group disbanded, but their music continues to be popular and influential to this day.
