Untitled (Lovie Austin's Blues Serenaders With Tommy Ladnier & Johnny Dodds)

albums.record.in_stock

(Compilation Stereo) 'A1, A2 recorded Chicago, cca November 1924
A3 - A7 recorded Chicago, April 1925
A8 - B2 recorded Chicago, August 1925
B3, B4 recorded Chicago, April 1926
B5 - B8 recorded Chicago, August 1926

There are two musicians listed in the line-up, whose presence on the respective dates is marked with a question mark: Bob Shoffner - cornet (A8 - B2) and Kid Ory - trombone (B3, B4). There is also an unknown trombonist on B5 - B8. Anyone out there able to confirm/identify??

This version doesn't have a gatefold cover, but a regular one with text cut off mid-sentence. Other differences I've been able to find is that this one doesn't have number 'VR 22526' printed in small font in the lower right corner of the back of the sleeve and it also lacks 'Printed in Holland' sentence before words 'Album design: Studio Wondergem g. v. n. Baarn, Holland' to the right of Tommy Ladnier photo. Another difference is in the labels - they are light brown on white, but even the names of the songs and other info are brown (they are black on the gatefold version)... No sense to describe all the details - check the pics if you need to know more...'[discogs]
