East of Eden

East of Eden was a British progressive rock band that was active during the late 1960s and early 1970s. The band was formed in Bristol in 1967 and was led by violinist and flautist Dave Arbus.

East of Eden's music was characterized by its fusion of rock, jazz, and folk influences, as well as its use of non-traditional instruments such as the violin and flute. The band's debut album, "Mercator Projected," was released in 1969 and featured the hit single "Jig-a-Jig." The album received critical acclaim and helped establish the band as a prominent figure in the progressive rock scene.
