Count Basie

Count Basie was an American jazz pianist, bandleader, and composer. He was born on August 21, 1904 in Red Bank, New Jersey, and passed away on April 26, 1984 in Hollywood, Florida.

Basie's band was known for its swinging, rhythmic sound, and he became one of the most influential and successful bandleaders of the swing era. Some of his best-known recordings include "One O'Clock Jump," "Jumpin' at the Woodside," and "April in Paris."
