Canned Heat

Hank Crawford (born Bennie Ross Crawford Jr.; December 21, 1934 – January 29, 2009) was an American jazz and R&B alto saxophonist, pianist, and arranger. He was born in Memphis, Tennessee, and began playing the piano at a young age. He later switched to the alto saxophone and played in various local bands.

In the early 1960s, Crawford joined the Ray Charles band as a saxophonist and arranger. He played on many of Charles' hits and was a featured soloist on the song "Georgia on My Mind". Crawford also recorded several albums as a bandleader, including "The Soul Clinic" and "Tico Rico".
