Beschreibung

Our second vinyl-only release from Godspeed contains two long songs, and sets the bar for the sprawling compositions that would characterize the group in the years to follow. Side one is cut at 45rpm and features 'Moya', a broiling cascade of upward scales that repeatedly explodes beyond its own threshold. 'BBF3' on Side two clocks in at 18 minutes, and is the band's most lyrical, multi-movement music to date - more elaborated melodic figures wind around an angry spoken-word field recording (infamously culminating in the recital of the speaker's poem - verses lifted straight from Iron Maiden). Both songs were recorded with Dale Morningstar at the old Gas Station studio in Toronto.[Constellation] Artwork: This vinyl-only (from Constellation) release is packaged in a grey-brown cardstock jacket with bronze metallic foil-inked artwork on front and rear. The front cover type is in Hebrew and sounds in English like 'tohu vovohu'. It is taken from an old-testament passage in Jeremiah and translates loosely as 'and lo, it was waste and void', a line preceded by 'I beheld the earth'. The rear panel of the jacket is a found image depicting a molotov cocktail, with the ingredient names listed in Italian. The inside sleeve is offset printed on uncoated stock, with the full Jeremiah verse in English and Hebrew on one side, and record credits and a photo by Efrim on the reverse. An insert, silk-screened on faded light green stock, contains a text called 'Work'.[] Our second vinyl-only release from Godspeed contains two long songs, and sets the bar for the sprawling compositions that would characterise the group in the years to follow.
